Brent the Brave

Last night we went to a Festival at the church. There were inflatables, a Bonfire, Hay rides and Bluegrass.

The girls stayed on the inflatables almost the whole time. We got them to come over to the bonfire briefly for smores but the fire was a little intimidating. They liked the hayride though.

There was a gladiator/jousting inflatable where you have to stand on a platform that is capable of spinning and try to knock an opponent off his platform with a big punching bag thingy. Apparently the rules were to remove loose items like hats and glasses. Brent had been telling kids throughout the evening to take off their glasses before getting on.

At the end of the evening, Brent took a turn to spar with a friend. He had his glasses on. He played for probably less than a minute before his opponent, knocked his glasses off with a blow and made a big gash on Brent's nose. It took forever to stop bleeding and the girls were very concerned. They also thought he was very brave for not crying. He's sporting a huge bandaid on his nose today. He's such a great children's pastor that he wanted to be a visual illustration on why you should obey the rules! :-)

Brent got in a few good blows,

I believe this was when his glasses came off

Just a flesh wound
