Our little backyard paradise

Our backyard smells so heavenly right now. Orange blossoms, lemon blossoms, peach blossoms... Mmmm. I love sitting on our back porch and watching the kids play.

This tree is the main shade in our backyard. I don't know what it is called yet, but we like the cute little yellow puff balls. It looks like a Dr Suess tree.

Neighborhood Egg hunt

A church came to our neighborhood and sponsored a neighborhood egg hunt. They had eggs, jump houses, face painting, balloons and races. The girls were very pleased. I think that is such a great idea for a church to do.
None of my girls were aggressive egg hunters. Other kids had bags full of eggs in addition to their Easter baskets. My children didn't even fill their baskets all the way. They were selective of what color they wanted. Lucy mostly went for the eggs that were broke open because they seemed to have candy in them.

A firetruck was at the event and while the other girls were at the playground, Lucy and I checked it out. She crawled right in, put her seatbelt on and put on the radio headset. She sat in there for about 10 minutes just saying, "hello, hello?" over and over again.

When they got home I let them have some of their candy. Angie was wide-eyed and very hyper after a few jelly beans. Lucy ran around for the rest of the day with a plastic egg in each hand squealing "EGG!" Every now and then she'd scream, "CANDY!" as she got one open.

Bucketheads

"Little maid, pretty maid whither goest thou?"

"Down in the meadow to milk my cow."

"Shall I go with thee? "No, not now;

When I send for thee, then come thou."

Musing in Yellow

Somebody asked me where I got these little skirts for the girls. On sale of course! Do you know how hard it is to afford matching outfits for them anymore!

It's Puzzling.

Karianne asked me, "Momma how did God make us?"
I wasn't sure exactly what she wanted to know. I said, "Well, God made Adam out of dirt, and the rest of us came from him."
She was quiet and I said, "Did that make sense? Did that answer your question?"
She said, "Yeees, but I thought he used puzzle pieces or something."
"Umm, well yes I guess He kinda did something like that, when you were born God took a piece from me and a piece from daddy and made you and that's why you kinda look like both of us."

She said, "oh yeah, that's right. I knew He used puzzles."

Whew!

Lucy Lucy Lucy...

What am I going to do with this girl? She didn't come down to breakfast when she was called. She finally came down a little later and I had a good scream. Have you ever tried to get lipstick out of a bellybutton? She still looks a little sunburned and I have a nasty ring around the tub.

Reminds me of Karianne and Angie when there were little and emptied an entire big bottle of baby powder all over their room. They knew they were in big trouble and didn't smile for the picture.
