Baby needs a family

I am passing this on from The Shepherd's Crook. The wonderful ministry started by Scott and Kathy Rosenow to advocate for orphans.

We have been contacted by a couple here in Ohio who is urgently seeking an adoptive family for their unborn child. This little boy will be born at the end of August and has been diagnosed as having has a chromosome 13 deletion at the 32nd band. The severity of this baby's disabilities is unknown, although this particular chromosomal disorder can cause very severe issues. Ultrasounds throughout the rest of the pregnancy may possibly reveal more specific details, but this couple is asking for a family who will commit now to adopting this child as their son, regardless of what his future holds. They want to have all pieces in place so that he can, hopefully, go home with his new family when he leaves the hospital immediately after his birth. There are no restrictions on family size or location of the adoptive family, although they are asking for a Christian family. The following is an excerpt of a letter from this couple.

"We were told by geneticists that our son is likely to have moderate to severe developmental disability and possibly some birth defects. We have an 18 month old son and no family [locally] that could help us care for this child. We are looking for a Christian adoptive family to take our son into their home at his birth in late August. We would prefer an open adoption, but would consider a closed adoption. We are looking for a loving home that can best meet the special needs of our son."

We thank God that this couple has chosen life for their baby, and we pray that God will bring just the right family to love and raise this child and celebrate his life, precious beyond words in the sight of God. Please pray about whether you might be that family. If you would like more information, please write to ohio-baby@theshepherdscrook.org.

Have a wonderful Easter as we celebrate together the risen life of our Savior, who makes all of this work possible.
