Neighborhood Egg hunt

A church came to our neighborhood and sponsored a neighborhood egg hunt. They had eggs, jump houses, face painting, balloons and races. The girls were very pleased. I think that is such a great idea for a church to do.
None of my girls were aggressive egg hunters. Other kids had bags full of eggs in addition to their Easter baskets. My children didn't even fill their baskets all the way. They were selective of what color they wanted. Lucy mostly went for the eggs that were broke open because they seemed to have candy in them.

A firetruck was at the event and while the other girls were at the playground, Lucy and I checked it out. She crawled right in, put her seatbelt on and put on the radio headset. She sat in there for about 10 minutes just saying, "hello, hello?" over and over again.

When they got home I let them have some of their candy. Angie was wide-eyed and very hyper after a few jelly beans. Lucy ran around for the rest of the day with a plastic egg in each hand squealing "EGG!" Every now and then she'd scream, "CANDY!" as she got one open.
