Cleft Trip 2012

I've been busy this week with Love Without Boundaries' Cleft Trip 2012. The Healing Home that I work for in China sent 6 babies to have their cleft lips and one palate repaired. I usually get one or 2 babies every few months ready for surgery, this was a big week. I can hardly complain, my main work was going through oodles of emails every day from China and finding references to my babies and letting the sponsors know how the surgeries went. The team in China did all the hard work. It was fantastic to watch. I am simply amazed at the stories of the children and the work the doctors were able to do. You'll have to read about the trip on the Love Without Boundaries blog here. One of the babies from my  Healing Home had a mouth so small that the doctor couldn't even get his little finger in her mouth! Somehow he did a beautiful palate repair. One sweet boy  has had such a rough time with his cleft lip and palate over the past several months that he had a feeding tube put in to prevent aspiration. His surgery was very tricky, but after the surgery, praise God, he no longer has a feeding tube and he has a beautiful lip. I wanted to share a few of the before and after pictures with you of a couple of the boys from my Healing Home.

Great Job everyone and thank you for your hard work. What a difference you've made in the lives of 49 children!
