Andrew will be six in August, was born with spina bifida, he lives in China. Andrew's physical disabilities are severe. He suffers from bowel and bladder incontinence and paralysis from about the hips down. From what
we understand, though, he is very bright with no cognitive disabilities. This is a child that can live a full,
normal life if he can just get out of the orphanage in China and into a family that he can call his own---
a family that will provide all that he needs and stand by his side through all that he will have to learn in order
to overcome his disabilities. He is reportedly already extremely motivated and ready to do his part to face these challenges. But he can't do this on his own, and he knows it. We are told that he regularly begs his caretaker at the orphanage to find him a family. It also appears that his spinal cord is tethered and needs to be released very soon in order to prevent even more damage to his body. He has no more time to lose.
