Camping

We went camping this weekend over Labor Day. We thought we were going to the beautiful Lake Tenkiller that is supposed to be reknown for it's clear waters. We looked on the internet for all the campgrounds around the area and chose one, Greenleaf State Park. We had a nice time. Brent rented a kayak, a canoe, and then he rented a Pontoon boat for the whole family to ride around the lake on. We really enjoyed that. I thought the lake looked really muddy and wasn't impressed if this was known for being a clear lake. We finally asked what lake we were on and we were told it was Greenleaf Lake. Bummer. The girls really wanted to swim so we swam in Greenleaf Lake. I felt like we were swimming in the cow pond that was behind our old house in Texas.

Karianne has wanted to go fishing for a long time. She finally got her chance. We got her a princess fishing pole and she went at it. She did a great job casting. there was a little princess crown weight to tie on the line to practice casting. She practiced a little bit and then I asked her if she was ready for me to put a hook on her line. She looked suprised as if she didn't know there was more to fishing. I put a hook on it and baited it and let her go.
She casted a few times and got impatient that she hadn't caught a fish yet. She wanted me to try and then she asked if I could put the crown back on so she could fish with that. I was fine with that, didn't have to worry about anyone besides fish getting hooked.
We were walking back from fishing and saw a dead squirrel in the road. We all said how sad that was. Karianne said it's momma must be worried about about it. Angie kept saying "aw, poor squirrel" Karianne turned around and I could just hear the eye roll in her voice. She said, "Angie! Don't worry, the squirrel is not going to stay dead. It's just sleeping!" Right, sleeping in the middle of the road with it's head missing. I'm not sure if she believed it or was just trying to make Angie feel better.

Amy said a new word on the camping trip. She saw a picture of Cinderella whom she loves and said, "momma yook (look) Chia wa wa (Cinderella). Well you never know, Princess Cinderella could have been Senorita Chiawawa.

Enjoy the pictures. Sorry, no pictures of the squirrel

I am going to go with sleeping in the life vest for the way to go. Looks like you all had lots of fun.
