This will probably be a regular feature during the Christmas season. I set out a Nativity set that the girls can play with. I had them set it up and they had definate ideas on how it should look so they had to take turns setting it how they thought is should be. Angie went first and Karianne got very upset because she didn't think it should look that way and she told her, "Angie when it is my turn I am going to FIX it!"
Anyway, I walked by tonight and this is what our Nativity set looked like. No comment, I'm sure you have plenty of your own. :-)

Getting ready for Christmas
The girls have been helping me decorate for Christmas this weekend. It's been sweet watching Amy try to figure out what Christmas is. I asked her last week what Christmas was and she said, "pretty trees"- That's about all we see in stores. After Thanksgiving of course the Christmas Season is out everywhere. We were in Walmart on Saturday and we saw Santa Claus in the toy aisle. Karianne and Angie said, "Hi Santa Claus!" and Amy said, "Hi Christmas Tree!"
They heard Jingle Bells playing and Karianne and Angie started singing along. Amy listened for a minute and then joined in with a similar tune but sang the words to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. :-)

Score!
I had fun shopping at 5am on Black Friday with my sister. One of the things I bought was a vacuum cleaner. Mine had just broke last week, so I was happy to find one on sale. I don't know who gets vacuum cleaners for Christmas, but I picked one up for myself. As an impulse buy, I picked up a Bissel floor sweeper for $9. It's basically a glorified dust buster with a handle. The handle telescopes to whatever length you need it. When I got it out of the box this morning, the handle was all the way down and it looked like a little child sized vacuum cleaner. A light went off in my head! I put it in the living room and said, "girls look what I got for you, would someone please vacuum that dirt over there?" They were all so excited, and took turns vacuuming my whole house.! We went out for a few hours and as soon as we got home Karianne said, "can I vacuum?" And I let her vacuum the kitchen -again. Lucy ate a snack in the kitchen a little later and got crums on the floor, I said, "Uh, oh, I think I need to vacuum..." and Karianne squealed and ran and got the vacuum and reported for duty immediately!
I'm lovin' it!!
What a bargain for $9! If I had only known, I would have bought the pink one. :-) Man, I could have put that under the Christmas Tree for them!

black friday
Thanksgiving
We went to Little Rock to have Thanksgiving with my sister and her family. Several of us had colds so I hope we didn't pass it on to anyone there. Lucy has had something going on all week and has been very cranky, it put a damper on the holiday, but we managed to eat Turkey by taking turns holding her. After dinner my sister took us to a place called the old mill and we got some pictures before our camera battery died. :-)

A little Vintage Lucy
I love vintage clothes, I would dress my girls in them all the time if I could. I found this beautiful vintage dress with matching coat and I've just been waiting for it to be could enough for her to wear it to church. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of her before church and we usually carry her in asleep when we get home from church. So these pictures were taken right after she woke up. Hair is a little messy but we got it on camera anyway.

Happy Birthday Karianne!
Karianne is 4 today. She wore her "beautiful dress" to church, and took her Build a Bear to church to show everyone as well. We came home and had pizza, opened presents and had cake. She finished everything and sighed and said, "this is they way it's supposed to be!"
Although we are so happy she is 4 today, now we can no longer say we have 3 three year olds, and now we have to pay for Karianne at restuarants. Oh well, had to happen some day.
Car Talk
Brent had this conversation with Karianne on the way to church today.
He was trying to get all the girls in their seatbelts. Karianne was taking her Build a Bear to church to show her friends. She wanted to put a seatbelt on the bear too. Brent said the Bear would be ok without a seatbelt.
Karianne:" but her heart might fall out if we get in an accident!"
Brent: "well she'll be ok, we can take her to Build a Bear and get her fixed again, but if you don't have your seatbelt and we get in and accident and your heart falls out then you could die!"
Karianne: "But then Jesus would fall out of my heart!!"
Brent: "No, he won't fall out of your heart, Jesus is always with you!"
Angie: "Jesus is EVERYWHERE!"

Emergency! Children "ageing out" of adoption at 13
This is a great time to reconsider adoption. These kids age out of the China adoption program at age 14 and are no longer considered adoptable and are on their own. These particular children below have all their fees paid for already!! Please take a moment to read and pray for these children that God so loves.
Karin
Emergency Adoption -Aging out healthy kids from China-Exceptions
considered- No adoption fees:
Our staff has met with these children in China and would be happy to
talk with you about them.
We are advocating for three girls from China age 13 and one boy age
13 from China that must have completed adoptions SOON! They are all
healthy. They are in danger of turning 14 and "ageing out." This
means they may have no support or resources and have to live on their
own in China - if they are not adopted before they turn 14.
.
There is no fee or application necessary to simply review these
children's information. We also have video and photos.GOOD NEWS!
Married couples may ask for exceptions to the adoption requirements
for these particular children. So if you dont fit all the guidelines
perfectly you may still be able to adopt one of these healthy
children. There is no fee to pay first to find out if you are may be
granted an exceptionl.
All adoption fees have been donated for these children. There are no
application fees, no adoption fees and no post placement fees. This
is a savings of over $14000. There is also a no-interest loan of
$4500 that may be available and you may be eligible for over $10,000
in Adoption tax credit. Parents will be responsible for paying for
their homestudy, immigration, visas and travel fees.
Wait time:greatly reduced. WACAP will do everything
possible to expedite these adoptions. There are also 30 other
children age 10-12 available for adoption.
WACAP (www.wacap.org) is a non-profit adoption agency with over 18
years of experience in adoptions from China. Contact Lynne Mason at

A day at the Museum
I took the girls to Oklahoma City to to take them to the Children's Museum there. We met up with a friend there who moved to Oklahoma City at the beginning of the summer. We played all day and had loads of fun. There was a 3 story treehouse with a slide that ran the whole 3 stories, that was a big hit. We were excited about seeing a REAL dinosaur and equally excited that he wasn't, well, too real! There were lots of hands on science projects that the kids just loved, even Lucy got into some of them. Funny things that happened that really didn't have much to do with the museum: We were in the car driving there and Karianne shouted, "hey guys do you smell that?" I put strawberry on my lips now everything smells like strawberries!
Another funny thing that happened, that was really only funny to me,
Angie fell in the toilet. :-)

Meet Polka Dot
I think that is the title of a Blue's Clues episode, even though we are all way to old for that now. :-)
Karianne went to Build a Bear today while Angie and Amy went to Mother's Day Out. She will be 4 on Sunday so we took her today so we wouldn't have to buy 3 bears on Sunday. :-)
She was excited that she didn't have to do nap time at school. She informed us that she would not be picking out a Bear to make, she was going to have a monkey because she already had a lot of stuffed bears.
When we got to Build a Bear she reviewed all the options and decided she wanted a pink bear with white hearts all over her. She had strong resolve, but if it comes in pink, Karianne has to have it. There were no pink monkeys.
She made her bear, dressed it up and named it Polka Dot. We decided to leave all the custom clothes at the store and we dressed her up at home.
Karianne loves the mall. When we go she liked to visit Build a Bear (just to look), the Disney Store, eat, play and ride the escalators. We did all that and her day was complete.
